The name of this song is "Overrated" by the band less than jake.These are a few of my favorite quotes from the song.Chris the lead vocal and guitar is basically saying how everyone is afraid to be different.the rest of the song says how sex,drugs,and pretty much everything is overrated.
in todays society theres super skinny girls in the magazines and everyone one wants to be like them its kinda overrated because people arent satisfied with themselves and obsess over trying to look like "celebrities"
Another example is Britney Spears.Everybody obsesses over whats she doing?who shes dating?Where are her kids?Is she wearing underwear?Its stupid crap thats given too much hype.
Myspace is another example.Almost everyone you probaly know has a myspace.So since its so popular other people think they need a myspace so they can have a boost in their popularity.
The thing you have to dare to be different dont go along with all the hype in the world.steer your own life dont let society to it for you.being overrated is overrated.

Empathy
Dear Journal,
Its been hard without mama here.Shes been in the hospital for weeks now.The doctors have told me I wont be able to see mama for at least a month because shes got pneumonia i just cant leave without seeing her so I go into see her.She gives me the smallest smile she was frail and thin.Her hair strewn and bedraggled.Her face so white that it seemed to fade into the sheets.It was like she would sink into the bed and disappear forever.She was a ghost of herself.Miguel told me it was time to leave but I couldn't leave her so I brushed her hair into a long plaited braid then wrapped it around her head and gently pinned it.It looked like a braided halo just like she use to wear it,in Aguascalientes.I was close to tears when I said bye to mama.I left her looking like an angel.

My First Post Assignment
Their is many to choose from because Ive read so many books this year.Most of the books I've read have been full with drama,suspense,and hurt.Most of my characters deal with obstacles like trying to find themselves and figure out who they are,others went through horrible tragedies like someone close to them dying.I love all the books i have read but my absolute favorite has to be Esperanza Rising.
Esperanza Rising

Instead for a rags to riches story its a riches to rags story.Esperanza Ortega has everything she could possibly want she lives with her parents and her abuelita(grandmother)in Aguascalientes,Mexico.She has fancy dresses and servants to tend to her every need.Then her family goes through a earth shattering tragedy.Her and her mother flee to California to settle at a Mexican labor camp.Esperanza has to learn to do things for herself she will not have people tending to her any longer.She has trouble getting through certain obstacles while at the camp.There they confront the challenges of hard work, acceptance by their own people, and economic difficulties.
The main highlight of this story i would say has to be Esperanza's father dying.Her father was the most important person in her life.Her mother is given a choice after her father dies either to marry tio Luis are lose everything she has to the bank.Her mother decides to marry but soon changes her mind and the two of them leave for California with their friends who were once their servants.
Another important highlight of this story is when Esperanza's mother gets seriously ill from valley fever.Esperanza goes through great depression she thinks she might lose her mother,and if she does she will have no one.
A Semi important event in the story is that they have to leave their abuelita in Mexico because she is to weak to travel.They love her so much but if they want a better life they will have to leave and wait for her to get better.She promised when she gets better she will come to California and join them.
